If you've been on TikTok lately, you've almost certainly seen the Walmart Birkin (or the "Wirkin," as many call it). This affordable copy of the legendary Hermès Birkin bag has taken social media by storm by offering a slice of luxury at a fraction of the price. The Birkin is infamous for its absolutely unattainable cost and exclusivity — one sold last year at auction for $450,000, and they're known for dangling off the arms of celebrities like the Kardashians. But the Wirkin, a wallet-friendly lookalike from Walmart that quickly went viral, has sparked a frenzy among bargain hunters and fashion enthusiasts alike.
People were drawn to the Wirkin because of how convincing it was — it actually looked a lot like a real Birkin bag, just without the astronomical price tag or the hoops required to jump through to purchase an authentic piece from a Hermès store.
