eufy Omni E25 Robot Vacuum: A feature-rich robot vacuum and mop that’s easy to use

BestReviews Testing Lab

Get your floors sparkling clean without lifting a finger (almost)

Need a vacuum that does it all? The eufy Omni E25 is a combination robotic vacuum and mop with a self-emptying, self-washing, self-drying dock. It’s notable for its HydroJet mopping system, in which its roller mop is continuously scraped and refreshed with an onboard water tank. It boasts 20,000 Pa suction force, equivalent to some upright vacuums, with a split in-line roller for dirt pickup and collection. It has a fully automated dock for self-emptying and self-washing, including heated mop drying.

The eufy Omni E25 robot vacuum can be considered a premium or flagship-level product for eufy. While it wasn’t exactly perfect when we tested it, we found it a capable and appealing all-in-one robotic vacuum and mop for general household use.

Testing the eufy Omni E25 Robot Vacuum

The BestReviews Testing Lab strives to investigate every claim the brand/manufacturer makes about the product. For this article, we set up the eufy Omni E25 Robot Vacuum in an 800-square-foot two-level apartment with a mixture of vinyl plank flooring, short pile area rugs, and medium pile carpet.

We ran the E25 multiple times on general cleaning runs for a sense of overall performance. We also tested the E25 specifically on design, vacuum performance, mopping performance, navigation, software and user-friendliness, and value. Specific tests included:

  • Setup: We noted how easy or difficult it was to set up the E25, including dock assembly and how long it took to set up the E25 via the eufy Clean App on our home network.
  • Particulate tests: On both hard flooring and carpet, we used particulates, such as uncooked rice, baking soda and raw oatmeal, to evaluate the E25’s roller pickup and suction strength.
  • Spills and stain tests: We used water, orange juice, coffee and soy sauce to test the E25’s mopping performance on both fresh and dried spills.
  • Hair tests: Using fibers from a faux fur swatch, we tested the E25’s hair pickup and hair-wrap avoidance on both hard flooring and carpet.
  • Navigation tests: We evaluated the E25’s mapping on duration and accuracy. We also noted its ability to detect and avoid obstacles, including placing shoes and cords directly in its path while cleaning, as well as stepping in front of it while navigating, to test its real-time avoidance.

The big picture

We were generally impressed with the E25, liking its design, ease of use, automation and mopping capability. Given its advertised 20,000 Pa suction strength, we were a little disappointed with its vacuum performance, but nonetheless found it adequate for regular cleaning jobs.

How to use the eufy Omni E25 Robot Vacuum

It’s easy to run the E25 by using the eufy app. You can select either mopping-and-vacuuming or vacuum-only runs and customize suction strength, mop wetness and number of passes. If you don’t need everything cleaned, the E25 can clean specific rooms or specific areas, although direct control and spot cleaning are buried options. The E25 pairs easily to Matter and can be triggered via Alexa, Siri and Google Home. It can also be triggered using the Power/Clean button on its top panel.

Cleaning is almost completely hands-free. We found the E25 recognizes obstacles well and avoids them in real time. Docking and self-emptying is smooth and requires no user input. The E25’s dock uses disposable bags to contain vacuumed dirt, which can be thrown away once full. The dock also washes the mop roller and dries it with heated air, storing used water in a tank.

Maintenance of the E25 usually means checking its in-line rollers for tangles, which was an infrequent situation in our testing. To avoid odors, we recommend frequent emptying of the dock’s wastewater bin and the occasional emptying of the onboard water tank. The rollers, brushes and mop are all easy to remove and can be rinsed in running water.

eufy Omni E25 Robot Vacuum benefits

On the whole we were impressed by the performance of the E25, especially in its navigation, mopping and convenience.

  • Continuous mop washing: The E25 has an onboard water tank that cleans and refreshes its mop during operation, reducing cross-contamination between rooms during mopping.
  • Roller mopping: The roller mop of the E25 allows it to mop small spills without scattering or spraying.
  • Single-run mopping and vacuuming: The E25 detected carpets and rugs accurately and raised its mop clear almost every time, making mopping and vacuuming during the same run more reliable.
  • Real-time object recognition: The E25 recognized shoes, electrical cords and other objects in real time, including if an object is placed in its path during operation.
  • Tangle-resistant rollers: The split in-line rollers of the E25 allowed hair to pass between them during vacuuming, almost eliminating tangles during testing.

eufy Omni E25 Robot Vacuum drawbacks

While we were pleased overall with the performance of the E25, we did note some shortcomings where it performed less than ideally.

  • Dried-on stains: While the E25 removed small fresh spills and general dust and smears, it had difficulty lifting dried-on stains, including sugary and salty stains in the kitchen. These stains could be lifted by a few seconds of scrubbing by hand.
  • Fine dirt pickup: During our particulate tests, the E25’s in-line rollers had difficulty lifting fine dirt (baking soda) from a short-pile rug. This indicates that mechanical agitation by the roller or beater is as important or more important than pure suction force.
  • Hair pickup: Similarly, 1-to-2-inch faux fur strands stuck onto a short-pile rug were not completely lifted by the E25 in a single pass. At least two passes in a cross-hatch pattern were needed to sufficiently lift the strands from the pile.
  • Weight: The E25 robot weighs between 10 and 15 pounds. While this is not particularly heavy for most people, it needs to be carried to a separate floor if you have stairs, which can be awkward.

eufy Omni E25 vs. eufy Omni E28: How do they compare?

The E25 robot unit is essentially identical to the robot in the eufy Omni E28. Their major differences are found in their docks.

  • Spot cleaner: The E25 lacks the E28’s spot cleaner. Pet households or households with frequent small spills and stains may find the inclusion of a spot cleaner with a robot vacuum/mop to be a great convenience. In our testing, the spot cleaner was not particularly game-changing and required the use of a separate stain-removal spray.
  • Dock size: The dock of the E25 is notably smaller than that of the E28, which integrates the spot cleaner. The E25’s dock is less obtrusive physically and can be left out in the open without obstructing foot traffic much.
  • Cleaning solution: The E25 comes with a self-dispensing bottle of cleaning solution. The E28 uses a different kind of solution that must be dispensed by hand. We did not receive a bottle of E28 solution with our test model.
  • Noise: The E28’s dock suction and cleaning depends on the motor in the spot cleaner, which is quite loud, registering at around 85 decibels during both self-emptying and mop washing. The E25’s dock is much quieter. Both models have similarly quiet robot units that never break 60 decibels during vacuuming or mopping.
  • Dirt pickup: Despite being practically identical, we experienced somewhat poorer dirt pickup with the E28 over the E25, especially when it came to fine particulates and pet hair. The E28 left more residue after two passes than the E25.

Should you get the eufy Omni E25 Robot Vacuum?

The eufy Omni E25 Robot Vacuum is overall an impressive all-in-one robotic vacuum and mop. It’s nicely designed, quiet and highly automated. It cleans hard floors well with simultaneous mopping and vacuuming, and it works adequately on rugs and carpets without getting them wet. Its dock is convenient, automated and relatively quiet. It’s worth consideration even at its standard $1,200-plus retail price, but it particularly shines during eufy’s sales events when, at around $600, it becomes an excellent bargain.
